Blog assingment #3

The relatively un-noticed bowl behind the library is the spot I chose to visit three times once at 10:45pm, once again on the 4th of July at 9:00pm, and a final time at around 7:30am. Only once was I there and the sun was actually shining and even that day it had just risen to the east. I don’t know if it was because I was there at awkward hours or what but every time I went there was almost no one around. There were a total of three or so that surrounded the bowl each time I went I choose to sit at a different one.
On the first night I went it was extremely late, 10:45pm. The only reason I went that late was to escape the boredom of my dorm room in smith hall. Upon arrival there were a group of three girls walking to their car in the parking lot to the side of the library. Without seeming like a stalker I tried to eaves drop on what they were saying. The girls were just talking about the upcoming midnight release of eclipse and if they were going to see it the very next morning. Also at this time the fire flies were lighting up the inside of the bowl like a fresh poured bowl of corn pops, “Gota have my pops” I assume they felt safe from the birds it being 10:45 and all. As time progressed I saw no more people come around, my assumption was they were all in for the night seeing how it was a Tuesday I couldn’t blame them, I didn’t even no why I was out. The helicopter flew over head and the occasional car driving on Woodland Avenue behind me were about the only thing too see afterwards.
July 4th was quite an evening to be sitting out at the bowl. Having no other plans and tired of watching all six episodes of Star Wars on spike T.V. I decided to go out and get some ice cream and check out the fire work scene behind the library. There was no professional show going on at the time which extremely disappointed me, but I still enjoyed the armatures getting drunk and putting on their own show. To my left I could see mortars occasionally flying up and exploding with a thunderous boom from Eculid avenue where all the for rent houses were, and even Cooperstown apartments straight ahead of me were launching little bottle rockets for the kids. Once again at this time I didn’t see anybody, my assumption was everybody went on vacation for the weekend or out celebrating. Me being from Florida here with no car I was pretty much stranded like a hermit on an island. As I laid on the bench as I did the very first night I was there for blog assignment two I wandered to myself, what watching the shows from the circling helicopter must have been like? They had to have been able to see a whole lot from the height they were at. Then into even deeper though of how if the space station was over North America at the time what they were seeing if anything.
The final visit to the bowl was at a much more reasonable hour, kind of. At 7:30 a.m. I just finished working out at the Jonson center and decided to go ahead and get my final visit over with. Upon arrival there was already much more activity. Janitors were driving around on golf carts spraying flowers and getting to their next destination. A few students wearing book bags exited the library they seemed pretty fatigued and I couldn’t blame them it was still a little early to be out studying, and the worst part about it was I think they were headed for class. Since iv been there it was the first time I could actually look up at the library and see people studying at the desks by the window. Down in the actual bowl instead of fire flies like the previous nights there were what seemed like little baby rabbits, and squirrels running around looking for breakfast. It was overall a very pleasant experience during all four times there.
