Class Blog Assignment #3
My final observation of the landscaping between the College of Design and the Science Technology Student Computer Lab buildings was a peaceful quite experience. The path has plants, scrubs and trees down both sides. A student or teacher walking through that breezeway will get a sweet smell of flowers and grass. The flowers are blooming with white, lavender and yellow blooms.
The second time I returned to observe this spot I sat at the opposite end of the walkway. I sat a metal picnic table between the Science Tech. Student Computer Lab. building and the Chemistry / Physics building. There was a breeze that came in small waves. There was a U.K. groundskeeper watering the plants right behind the College of Dentistry building. This illustrated to me that it takes a lot of people working to keep the campus beautiful. These people work hard to keep the campus clean and vibrant.
The third time I returned to my observation spot I noticed that there was a breeze. Every time I came down this walkway I notice there is a small but sometimes stiffer breeze. Usually comes out of the southwest. I could hear the birds singing more than the last time. I have visited this spot around the same time of day each time and noticed that it always shaded.
The parking lot that is behind the Chemistry / Physics building is visible from one end of the walkway. The parking lot seemed to have more vehicles in it each time I visited this area. This time there several motorcycles and cars parked in it.
The pathway seems green and smells fresh like spring even though it is dry hot summer days. I noticed a pine cone but didn’t see a pine tree nearby. I noticed several people walk down the walkway. They appeared to be students walking to class, teachers or administration people walking to class or a meeting, and parents walking with their freshman maybe for the first time on campus ever. So I think the smells and scenery on campus are very welcoming.
