Blog assignment 3#

Blog assignment 3#

My observation is a place that near W.T.Y Library. It is a path that cross the Columbia Ave. There are a lot of trees especially a huge one with a black seat and a trash can beside.

The first time I went there. I found the grass was withered and yellow. It seemed because of lacking water and also the sunshine was too hot. Even I felt the water vapor was getting out of my body when I was standing in the sunshine. People walked very fast, they seemed want to get out of the hot weather as soon as possible that they even don’t want to stay a little bit longer. The black wide seat was hot. On one hand, it absorbs energy from the sun; on the other hand, it was heated by the hot air. The black trash can beside it was empty. The sunshine arranged in a crisscross pattern under the tree. Some squirrels jumped up and down on the tree. Some birds walked on the ground, they seemed looking for food. Cicadas were noisy on the tree.

The second time I back to there in a late afternoon. The shadow of that tree was very long because the sunshine was a kind of parallel. The black seat was still hot, but when I sat on it I felt comfortable. Few people walked pass this path and few cars remained on the parking lot. The cicadas weren’t noisy. Maybe it has already dead.

The third time I went to there I found some of the leaves on the tree are having holes on them. I think the worms ate them. But there aren’t too many leaves have hole on it, just some. Due to this, I thought the environment of Lexington is in a balance. The food chain seemed so perfect. That black trash can, which beside the black seat, had some rubbish in it.
