Blog Assignment #2

The landscaping at U.K. is the basis of my observation. I make a short video clip of the pathway I chose to showcase is located between Science and Technology Student Computer Lab. and the College of Design buildings just across the street from the Chemistry and Physics building. I chose this pathway because as I walk down it the aroma of the flowers really is noticeable. The sidewalk is concrete covered with pea gravel. There is a blue painted cats paw print about half way down the path. From one end to the other is about 60 ft. long. On the Science and Technology building side there is a group of big hydrangeas’ these green leafed plants that have these huge white blooms. Down that same side of the pathway there are six trees that like some type of maple trees. And down low to the ground there are scrubs in between the tree trunks. The other side of the path way has a black lamp post that appears to be 16 ft. tall. The lamp post is surrounded by plants some are hostice and some type of lilies with purple flowers. The smell of lilac is present but I didn’t see any and I smell lavender too. In the ten minutes I have observed this spot: A bird hopped across the sidewalk about midway down, two differen
t people watched through there, and two different four-wheelers went through there. The birds are singing, the cadidids are make noise that I would normally find irriating and there is slight southwestern breeze that smell a little like rain. This spot seems like it would be shady all day but I wouldn’t know since I only pass through on my way to class in the mornings. I picked this spot because the landscape looks and smells great.
