Assignment 53: Give advice to yourself in the past.

Advice to Alex at age 17.
1) Learn how to say no to some of your so called "friends." It will save you money, you won't be as stressed out and you won't have guilt later on in life over some of the stupid things they'll lead you to do.
2) Just because someone made a reputation for you as a party person before you moved to Kentucky, that doesn't mean that you have to try to live up to that reputation. Don't try to impress others by drinking alcohol in school or other places.
3) Be true to yourself. It'll build your confidence and give you piece of mind. Living a lie is hell.
4) Join the "Versailles crowd." While you might think that they're boring and goody goodies at this point in time, later on in life they'll become truer freinds than some of the people that you hang out with now. You'll also find the girl of your dreams among them.
5) Don't stray away form the youth on the trip to Ashville, NC. It'll save you $300, and a lot of headache and grief.
6) Admit that your cousin has a drug addiction and don't just wish for it to go away. Tell someone about it while he's only smoking marijuana, and you won't have to carry a load of guilt later on in life when he starts abusing harder drugs.
7) Learn how to work academically. You're smart, but when college starts, memorizing information for the test an d forgetting it the week after just won't cut it. Start building the foundation for success in life by tackling your laziness right now.
8) Don't live in the past. Sure, life in Washington was good, you were one of the popular kids on the block, but that is the past. You'll never bring it back, so stop sulking and embrace what the future holds for you instead.
9) Play soccer your senior year. Otherwise you'll regret it for the rest of your life.
10) Stop running from God!! Seek him now with all your heart, strength, and soul. Your faith will end up being the foundation for your inner strength and will to that will help you keep on going throughout all the turbulences that life will swing at you.
